Advertising

36 years of advertising local businesses

With its distinctive logo and cheerful colour scheme, The Advertiser has been a feature of life in Royal Wootton Bassett and Lyneham since 1988. Local people read The Advertiser for the For Sale/Wanted ads, the community information – but mostly to find the services and products they need.

WHO READS FREE PRINTED PAPERS?

The Advertiser is familiar, engaging and conveniently delivered directly to homes and businesses. It’s a welcome alternative to looking through countless web pages. The responses advertisers get is demonstrated in their continued support of the publication, which regularly publishes between 36 and 40 pages each month.

Printed matter still holds an important role in communication. Readers like local services in a publication where they know a service they want is nearby.

For our advertisers, we’re simply the most direct way of connecting their business with potential customers. The Advertiser is distributed to 9,000 homes in Royal Wootton Bassett, Hook, Greenhill, Greatfield, Lydiard Millicent, Broad Town, Broad Hinton, Tockenham, Bushton, Clyffe Pypard, Lyneham, Goatacre and Bradenstoke including copies available at shops and local facilities such as takeaways, leisure centres and libraries.

OUR LOYAL ADVERTISERS

Many of our advertisers have been with us since the very first issue. We hope you agree that says something about the effectiveness of the publication. The Advertiser was set up by a local and continues today to be run by a local, established business that is experienced in publishing.

The Advertiser continues to go from strength to strength, with new advertisers coming into the magazine each month. The effective website design means that advertisers can get the best of both worlds, benefiting from print and an up-to-date digital version of our publication to reach their customers in a wider area.

Buy Local with The Advertiser

Our local web designer working on our website

Here at The Advertiser, we’re passionate about the Buy Local campaign. All of our distribution agents are locals and employed directly by The Advertiser, and we partner with a local web designer too.

We really believe most people prefer to use suppliers from their own area. Customers like to buy from local businesses. It creates a feeling of familiarity and results in a sense of security and trust. Customers like to know a local trader is on their doorstep to help them out.
